The 8th graders will being reading Romeo and Julie next week. The purpose of exposing students to this classic piece of literature is to provide students with a foundation of background knowledge from which they can use when they are in high school. We will read the work primarily in an adapted text to help students gain access to the story. However, we will present some of the work in its original Elizabethan language to allow students to gain an appreciation for iambic pentameter, the format and style Shakespeare used. Please stay tuned for more information and updates!
Monster Projects April 19, 2012
This week, we finished our whole class novel study of the book Monster, by Walter Dean Myers. The 8th graders have been tasked with selecting a final project from a list of End of Unit Project list possibilities , which were presented today during class. Please click on the link to see a pdf file of the project possibilities.
Additionally, students were given End of Unit project rubrics, which match the project they selected. Students will be given some in-class time to work on their project. However, they may need to complete their project at home.
Please feel free to contact me if you have any questions regarding this project.
